One of Safeguard’s very first customers is the largest tank barge operator in the United States.

With this goal in mind, Safeguard was consulted with regard to slippery ladders on single point mooring systems (SPM). SPMs are large buoys, permanently anchored to the seabed, with bearings that allow rotation so that a moored vessel can freely swivel. They can also include hoses for fluid transfer.
SPM access ladders are always wet, posing a slip-and-fall hazard and a significant threat to a zero-injuries policy. Plus, one of the worst places for slip-and-fall accidents is in the middle of the ocean!
