Matthew J. Thayer Joins SAFEGUARD® Technology as Vice President
Streetsboro, OH, February 11, 2022 – Matthew J. Thayer has joined SAFEGUARD® Technology as Vice President. He is tasked with growing domestic and international sales as well as expanding the company’s product line.
Mr. Thayer has more than 30 years of experience in roles ranging from applications manager to vice president within the engineering, business development and sales management areas of several companies. He comes to SAFEGUARD® Technology from Knight Materials Technology (KMT, formerly Koch Knight LLC) where he had been Vice President of Sales and Marketing since 2014. In his role with KMT, he was responsible for sales and business development in the United States and globally, overseeing offices in Australia, Turkey, Korea and others. KMT is a leading manufacturer of acid-resistant linings used in processes for chemical and mining industries.
Prior to Knight Materials Technology, he worked at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (APCI) from 2003-2014. Mr. Thayer began his tenure at APCI as Senior Applications Engineer responsible for reactive metallurgy and thermal spray applications and left the company as Global Mining Manager for the equipment supply group.
Thayer has also worked as Global Technical Director for AstroCosmos Metallurgical, a division of Mersen, a global leader in the design and fabrication of titanium, tantalum, zirconium and nickel.
